Pop-Up Dinner Workshop

Do you enjoy Asian food but feeling frustrated that it’s difficult to find the real deal in the Netherlands? I definitely am. I come from Malaysia, where it is known as one of places with the best street food in the world. I want to share Asian flavours and culture, and that’s how the Pop-Up Dinners come about. Many requested to learn the dishes too, hence you now get to cook with me besides enjoying the delectable Asian fares.

Join me on the journey to learn new cultures, cook with me and feast on Asian flavours. It’s not just a dinner, but also a fun outing to learn new dishes with your loved ones and other food lovers, with just an additional 10. Or You can also just come for the dinner. The reservation can be made from just one person, with a maximum of 16 diners.

9 March 2019 (Sat) – Malaysian Nyonya | 16:30 – 20:30
The Peranakan Nyonya communities comes from the children of the Chinese and Malay mix marriage. Their Nyonya food is a delightful heritage cuisine combining Chinese ingredients with Malaysian spices and cooking techniques.
Menu: Otak Otak (Steamed Fish Custard), Jiu Hu Char (Stirfry Turnip), Nasi Kunyit (Turmeric Rice), Asam Udang (Tamarind Prawns), Penang Acar (Pickled Vegetables), Kari Ayam (Chicken Potato Curry), Bubur Cha Cha (Coconut Milk with Sweet Potatoes and Taro Dessert)

23 March 2019 (Sat) – Malaysian Street Food | 16:30 – 20:30
Savour some of the best street food in the world, combining the cuisine of Chinese, Malay and Indian flavours. Menu: Or Kuih (Savoury Taro Cake), Char Koay Teow (Fried Rice Noodles), Curry Laksa (Coconut Curried Noodle Soup), Roti Jala (Laced Pancake with Curry), Bubur Pulut Hitam (Black Glutinous Rice Dessert with Coconut Milk)

6 April 2019 (Sat) – Traditional Malaysian | 16:30 – 20:30
Be delighted with rich flavours of Malaysian food that comes from an infusion of Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisine.
Menu: Roti Jala (Lace pancake with Curry), Malaysian Chicken Satay with Kuah Kacang (Malaysian Skewered Chicken with Peanut Sauce), Nasi Lemak (Coconut Rice with sambal), Acar (Pickled Vegetables), Asam Udang (Tamarind Prawns), Kari Ayam (Chicken Curry), Sago Gula Melaka (Sago pearls with coconut milk and coconut syrup)

This includes:
– welcome drinks and snacks
– 4 hour workshop with guidance on the recipes and food culture
– preparing the dishes in teams
– at the end of the workshop, you will enjoy the all dishes during the dinner
– free flow of flavoured water, tea and coffee 

* If you prefer to only attend the dinner, the price is 40.
* For €12.50, you can purchase unlimited drinks of wine, beer and soft drinks
* Food intolerances or vegetarian preferences can be catered for.
