When I was young, we had a mango tree (with 3 other fruit trees) in our first house with huge land space. After we moved to a house with only enough space for 1 tree, my mama chose to plant a guava tree. Yet, we were lucky to be showered with many variety of fruits (including mangoes) from relatives and friends’ garden. Now staying in high rise apartment, how I miss those days.. that’s one of the trade-offs for living in a metropolitan city.

Mango Lassi
It’s mango season here in Malaysia, you can see mangoes everywhere. With the days getting hotter and mangoes aplenty, what better way to cool down than a cold sweet mango lassi drink. Mango lassi has always been my to-order drink when I go to Indian restaurants and it’s so easy for you to enjoy at home too.

Low Carb Burger
There are days when I crave for a burger, especially the RM4 Ramly Burger Special. I prefer eating Ramly Burger anytime than any of the fast food outlet here. Who doesn’t love a good burger? Even my 92 year old grandpa love it when he had his first burger last year!
I made myself a Low Carb Burger, bun-less and guilt-free. To fill myself up, I prefer having another piece of burger patty (more protein) than carb like a bun. Why order take-aways when you can enjoy these loaded hamburgers at home?

Grated Carrot & Beetroot Salad
Now that I am back and (almost) fully rested from a whole 15-days in China, I am ready to get back into my normal schedule, more specifically my healthy diet. Even though I eat an extra serving of dessert or while on vacation, I don’t find myself buried in guilt because the most important thing is to enjoy and try out new food. Also, following this 5 healthy diet tips while on vacation helps a lot. These tips may be helpful if you are planning on a vacation in the next couple of months.
After 2 weeks of wonderful feasting, a light and healthy cleanse with beetroot was in order for the Saturday lunch. Grated Carrots & Beetroot Salad.. hmm..
