Pan-fried Honey Lemon Chicken

Honey chicken is apparently a very popular Chinese restaurant dish in the West, as well as a popular take-out meal. Another similar chicken recipe created by the West is Lemon Chicken. Green Mango with Fish Sauce

Being a fruit fiend, I would feel strange if I don’t get my daily dose of fruits. Though I can’t quite remember how I got through a whole month without fruits during my candida detox 3 years ago. At the beginning of my recent Europe trip, I was totally ecstatic with the abundance summer fruits. However towards the end of the 2 months, I can hardly believe I had an overdose of the luscious summer berries and stone fruits. Then I recalled I was like that too, years ago. After a long day at work, it was much easier to heat up pre-cooked food just to fill my hungry tummy. Continue Reading →

Caramelised grilled plantain with a dab of butter & brown sugar. So easy & DAMN DELICIOUS

Grilled Plantains

The first time I tasted the delicious plantain was in a Suriname shop in Rotterdam, The Netherlands (or commonly known as Holland). Bakabana is the Surinamese version of fried banana, but with plantain dipped in batter and fried, and some places serve it with spicy peanut sauce. As part of South America was under the Dutch colonization, the Dutch, too, brought other colonies (Indonesian & East Indian) influences to Suriname during the colonization years. That explains the Indonesian style peanut sauce with the plantain. Continue Reading →
